A delightful High Tea For Me Walking Tour of the Brisbane CBD.

Time: Saturday 9.30am
Duration: 2.5 - 3 hours
Meeting Point: Queen St Mall, CBD

High Tea was once a meal for the working man, taken standing up or sitting on tall stalls, which is where the ‘high’ comes from. Today, it is more commonly known as an meal of tea, sandwiches, scones and cake.

The charm of high tea is becoming increasingly popular across Brisbane, with many hotels, tea rooms and historic buildings offering an array of treats.

Gathered together are the best high tea elements in the Brisbane CBD, bringing you a high tea experience with a difference.

On this progressive high tea, you’ll visit a variety of venues, each with their own samples to share and history to tell, including a glass of sparkling. We even squeeze in a sneaky view of a stunning rooftop bar, which just oozes luxury!

Your friendly host will also discuss tea etiquette, and how high tea was established, including its main components the quiche, macaron and petit fours.

There will be some walking involved on the day, so please wear comfortable shoes and bring an umbrella if the weather calls for it.

High Tea For Me cannot accommodate Coeliac/gluten-free, diary-free or vegan diets. Please advise your dietary requirements when booking.

Really lovely- we were welcomed, the hostess rang us as we were lost. Great introduction to the Brisbane Arcade, a delightful hidden gem of a restaurant and a great city bar.

I really enjoyed the tour. The food and drink were divine. The first location in particular i'd always wanted to visit, so it was a nice surprise to finally do so. I liked that the locations were kept secret as well, it added to the fun.

It was a nice way to spend a morning. Karen was a great host, very friendly and informative. The Room with Roses was a great venue and loved hearing about the history of the Arcade. Food and tea was great. The French cafe food was delicious and nice to end up at Lennons. They were a good group of ladies.

It's an opportunity to learn what high tea is. I am very happy that the owner of the room with rose came to say something regarding high tea to us. But a little bit disappointed is in the 2nd restaurant, we only had tea and dessert there, just like normal customers. It would be better if someone can be on behalf of this restaurant to give a few words about the topic or the tour.

First stop Room with Roses was brilliant - high tea venue extraordinary owing to historical influence - Second Venue stop - food was wonderful but very rich. Final stop could have had small platter to go with wine.

Lovely - new places that we were unaware of although we have been to Brisbane many times. The host Kyla was on time, which was an improvment on our previous experience, so that was a good start.

It was more than what I thought it might be. Kyla was very friendly.

Very enjoyable way to spend a Saturday morning. Loved the High Tea at Kerry Craigs and the opportunity to browse the collection in the emporium. It was interesting to taste the delicacies at the other places and hear the history.

Great concept for high tea lovers.

Kyla was lovely. I thought it was a bit too much of a sugar rush in too short a time. More walking and more history and a bigger gap between food!!! Just ended up feeling a bit sick! But overall I loved it!
