Time: 3.00pm Saturday
Duration: Approximately 3.5 hours
Meeting Point: Teneriffe
Over the past 15 years, Newstead and Teneriffe have undergone a dramatic transformation from a run-down former industrial suburb, to a desirable, upmarket riverside precinct.
This area is now one of Brisbane’s most desirable and iconic destinations.
On this walking tour, you will visit several food and drink venues along the way and sample a mix of savoury and sweet products.
There is also a variety of food educational demonstrations, such as chocolate making techniques. You will also learn about how the venues were established and why the owners are so passionate about their craft.
The tour price covers all food samples, but cannot accommodate for gluten or dairy free.
A serving of alcohol is included, with non-alcoholic alternatives available. We do not recommend customers under the age of 18 to attend.
The meeting point is a short walk from the Teneriffe Ferry Wharf.

It was lovely. An easy walk, great tidbits of historical information and delicious food. Kitty was so easy going and interesting. Plus- she let us chat away with our friends, as well. 5/5 by Carmel 10-3-2019
Thanks for a great tour! 5/5 by Vicki and Peter Lynch 3-3-2019
Tamara our Host, was a great host, a great people person, fantastic amount of knowledge of the area and businesses. The foode Trail is a great concept and what a selection of venues to chose from, absolutely awesome is the Fortitude Valley. Being that we were there often in the late 60's and 70's. Also it is full of young people. 5/5 by Les and Fay Purcell 3-3-2019
Really enjoyed it 5/5 by Douglas Carroll 2-2-2019
We really liked the tour. Tamara was an engaging guide and our group was friendly. Mecca Bah provided an exotic start and the other places provided interesting contrasts. Wandering the back streets of Newstead was fun and we gained an insight into the area's history. 4/5 by Nick and Lou Robson 17-12-2018
guide was lovely. But didn’t start well as 3 of us waiting at designated meeting point ‘botanica’ but no one else around so I had to contact guide who advised of change of meeting point. I had no update email or text. It was lovely of rest of group to wait before eating. Had a stop cancelled ‘eves’ as there closing . Apart from those few glitches it was nice tour went to places I’d never been and learnt some great facts. I would be happy to recommend.thanks 4/5 by Rayleen Camp 2-12-2018
Fantastic work Tamara! We ended up with a private tour for our group and Tamara was an excellent host throughout! So friendly and helpful.
Also a massive thankyou to all the team in the office who were able to assist with my booking. You are all fantastic! 5/5 by Amanda Hurley 7-11-2018
Chocolate maker and Newstead Brewery were highlights that the river front bar and the gelato spot simply could not match and in fact were diminished by the comparison. 4/5 by Glen Jarman 31-8-2018
We had a great tour, Tamara was fun, friendly and knowledgeable. Our least favourite was Eves on the Park.

It was a fun afternoon. I left feeling very full. It was a pity that Eve's on the River only told the leader at the last moment that they jsd a function on and we could not visit. Our leader had recently arrived home, she was a bit lost with her commentary. 4/5 by Deborah Harney 6-8-2018
The venues we attended were great and the samples of what we had were enjoyable. 5/5 by Jenny Mendez 5-8-2018

I found the tour relaxed and informative. We got some local history as well as information from the food venues. The group size was perfect. Tamara, our guide, added fun to the afternoon and was able to adjust well when one venue couldn't be visited. The food we tasted was great and the whole afternoon opened up a previously unvisited area of Brisbane to me. 5/5 by Cathy Thorp 15-7-2018
Great food, insightful commentary along the way. 5/5 by Philip Jack 3-7-2018

Tamara was a fantastic guide and made the event enjoyable in spite of the rain. Loved the chocolatier and gelato place both of which I never knew existed and will definitely visit. Was a very enjoyable afternoon/early evening. 5/5 by Kalpana Patel 12-3-2018
Had a wonderful afternoon. Ate some delicious food. The length of time it took was good. It was good value for money.
Our tour leader, Tamara, was just new but she was really enthusiastic and very friendly. Made everyone feel very welcome. She helped us by taking photos of my husband and I, rather than trying to do a selfie!
Our group was a good size, if there had been more, it would have been ungainly.
Certainly learnt a lot about the area and enjoyed the food and drinks. We headed back to the area the following week as we passed a Vietnamese place which looked great.
It was a lovely way to explore a part of Brisbane we usually don't usually frequent. 5/5 by Fiona Turner 10-3-2018
