Explore the flavours and styles of cooking behind the amazing Asian Street Food scene in Adelaide.
Time: Saturday 12:00pm
Duration: 2.5 - 3 hours
Meeting Point: King William St, Adelaide
This safari will take you on a whirlwind culinary adventure of Vietnamese, Malaysia, Korea and Japan.
Over the years, many cuisines have opened up around the city, due to more people trying and enjoying different tastes. Subsequently, a mix of South-East Asian flavours is highly contrasted against East Asian flavours which can be slightly more muted depending on the dish. Being the food of the people - street food is a quintessential and authentic representation of Asian cuisine.
Although Australia doesn’t have masses of street vendors, there are several restaurants in Adelaide that are particularly intimate with this food culture.
At this event, our host will guide you around to a variety of places, each with their own delicious samples to share while educating you on the origin of each food sample.
If you’re new to this style of cuisine, the tour is a great introduction, and will inspire you to try more. And if Asian food is already a firm favourite of yours, this is a great opportunity to discover more of Adelaide’s hidden gems.
There will be some walking involved on the day, so please wear comfortable shoes and bring an umbrella if the weather calls for it.
Please note: This tour requires a minimum of five people to proceed.
iy was good to be introduced to venues we had not been to before, to have wall art not noticed before and introduction to some interesting wines. The company was fun as well. 4/5 by Karen Nangle Cheese & Wine 14-5-2019
